4-Day Tour from Marrakech to Merzouga Sahara desert

Day 1 :
Marrakech – Tizi N’tichka – Ait ben Haddou - Boumalne Dades

You will be picked up by our private Van around 8am then drive you strait to the south side of morocco, crossing the High Atlas Mountain range via the magnificent Tichka pass (2260m) which considered as the highest mountain pass in Morocco, or highest road point. This pass offers a stunning view over the north version with its Berber villages due to its location and height. Here we will stop for taking some panoramic pictures. We'll be then driving till we get to the Kasbah (Berber Fortress) of Ait Ben Haddou, where we will stop for lunch and then a visit of the Kasbah right afterwards. The Kasbah is a UNESCO world heritage site since 1987. After your visit and lunch at the Kasbah we leave to your destination passing by Ouarzazate city which is about only a few kilometers from the Kasbah, the city nicknamed Morocco's Hollywood, and Ouarzazate means (without noise) in the Berber language. We will only be passing through this day until the 4th day in which you will have the opportunity to visit several interesting places. We drive directly to Boumalne Dades passing by the city of roses to perhaps stop to purchase the rosewater or other cosmetic rose’s products in case of interest, then getting to your Hotel in Boumalne for dinner and overnight.

Overnight in Boumalne Dades.

Day 2 :
Boumalne Dades – Tinghir – Todra Gorges – Rissani – Merzouga

Next day once after breakfast we leave the city of Boumalne and head for Merzouga city but before that we will be getting first to the city of Tinghir, also nicknamed the city of a 1000 Kasbah, To get from there to the Moroccan famous canyons of Todra Gorges for a nice walk, they have an altitude of 300m, and if you are lucky you will meet some mountain climbers there, doing what’s called the mountaineering. After a long walk in the Todra Gorges, an optional lunch is scheduled here before we continue our way passing by the small town of Alnif, Rissani and getting to our final destination city with its breathtaking sandy dunes Merzouga. Remember that you can still enjoy an activity like Sand-board, ATV or Buggy in the heart of the dunes if you wish, before you ride your camels to your camp, enjoying later an amazing sunset time by your camp. Overnight at your camp with dinner and Berber men playing their drums around the fire and under shooting stars.

Overnight in Merzouga Camp.

Day 3 : Merzouga – Rissani – Alnif – Agdz – Ouarzazate

This third day you will be woke up quite early to enjoy a beautiful sunrise, you can then have your breakfast at the camp then on camels again back the same place where your van left you the previous day. A drive then back to Ouarzazate to be able to visit new amazing places this time. Now leaving Merzouga passing through Rissani ‘’A former major caravan center’’ If interested, you may have a stop at a mineral fossils exposition and fabrication workshops where they have the best Moroccan mineral fossils, and be able to see how those fossils are made. As for these mineral fossils, during the Paleozoic era - about 540 million to 250 million years ago - the southeast of Morocco lay under the sea, this is why the fossils are basically extinct fish. You may get the opportunity to try some fresh camel's milk in this city if you want to. We continue our way passing by Alnif but then by a different road to goes through different Ksars ‘’Berber Castles’’ and by the large palm oasis of Agdz city. To also be able to see beautiful but strange shaped mountains just before we get to Ouarzazate for dinner and overnight at your Riad.
